I have tutored my brother and some close friends before, and it appeared to greatly benefit them. SAT score was a 1700, MCAT score was a 28, and Major Field Test (evaluation of Bio students) was 180/200 (97th percentile by 2013 demographics). I'd like to be a tutor because I enjoy seeing other people get it. I enjoy the "aha!" moment when the proverbial light bulb goes off. It also solidifies my own knowledge on the matters in which I tutor. It helps to keep me sharp, introduce others to the concepts, and possibly foster future scientists and innovators. I actually really enjoy using simple analogies to elucidate complex biological axioms.
