Experience
I served as an interim/contracted elementary school teacher at Inglewood Elementary school where I taught third grade students who were falling below TN State Benchmark standards for Reading and Math; I was able to produce measureable results via test scores, higher report card grades, better progress reports. The classroom situation was small groups of students (5 students to 1 instructor) who reported to me for one hour sessions 3-4 times per week during school hours. I also served two years as an after school tutor at Brick Church Middle School through a company called Knowledge Points. These students were in grades 5th through 8th, and had fallen below TN State Benchmark standards in Reading and Math. This was an afterschool tutoring situation where the student/teacher ratio was 5:1. Again, I was able to produce measurable results of their achievement through standardized test scores during and after their 8-week tutoring sessions; and higher grades for Reading and Math on their report cards.

I enjoy the outdoors; especially lakes and beaches. I love how relaxing water can be as well as watching wildlife. I love using my hands to type on my computer and braid hair. I enjoy pleasure reading. I have three children who all completed their formative education in the magnet schools of Nashville, TN that still remain the highest ranked in the state of Tennessee. I love children and I love to assist children achieve their best because those achievements are measureable and it is very rewarding to see children meet and exceed their expectations!
