In college, I was in the Honors Program which consisted of many humanities classes and required completion of a thesis, therefore I have much experience with writing. With writing a thesis and completing numerous papers required for my nursing degree, I have gotten invaluable experience with scholarly and research-oriented writing. My thesis gave me the opportunity to explore the world of nursing research and the hot topic of simulation exercises in nursing education. Not only did I go through the process of conducting scholarly research, but I also had the chance to present my research findings in a professional setting at the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Excellence Night. In regard to my experiences in Belmont's Honors Program, I read lots and lots of books and works. I read everything from medieval literature to books on world religions, to Middle Eastern culture and arts, to the works of J.R.R. Tolkien and C.S. Lewis. With all this reading came frequent writing. I've written numerous academic papers pertaining to the aforementioned subjects and more. Additionally, I have experience in tutoring in general: I volunteered as a peer tutor throughout college for nursing classes such as health assessment, medical-surgical nursing, and anatomy and physiology. My experiences with tutoring have been very fulfilling! Tutoring I find is beneficial for both involved--Not only do I love motivating and aiding others in fulfilling their potential, but I also appreciate the opportunity to improve upon my own skills. I very much enjoy reading and Harry Potter has been my favorite book series of all time since the second grade. I love film/television shows--my new obsessions are the series Stranger Things and the film Ex Machina (please do yourself a favor and watch these!) I also love to write, specifically fiction and to dance in my free time.
