EducationVanderbilt University - Current Undergrad, Molecular and Cellular Biology
ExperienceI'm a pre-med student at Vanderbilt University, working towards my degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology, and one in Medicine, Health, and Society. I have had experience as a tutor since I was in middle school and was asked to aid other students as they studied math. I was able to help many achieve success, and have continued tutoring in both official and unofficial capacities ever since. The main subject I tutor students in is math, as that's where my interests and abilities are strongest, but also work with students in science areas, and have guided a number of students to success on standardized exams like the ACT, SAT, and other similar tests. I get a kick out of being with students as they experience their "aha" moments in learning, where a concept they have been struggling to understand suddenly becomes clear. While sometimes students need to just memorize items for a test that is coming up, and I can help them do that, I find it far more valuable to help a student gain a true understanding of subjects in a broad context, as that will enable them to retain the knowledge for a long time. Outside of academia, I enjoy volleyball, cooking, and the Green Bay Packers.
