Vanderbilt University | M.Ed. in Secondary Science Education East Tennessee State University | B.S. in Chemistry During my time at Vanderbilt, I learned how to teach, and I learned how to learn. There's so many ways a person can learn, and it's a great feeling when you know how you learn best. Doing this plays on your strengths and gives you the best opportunity to be successful. One of my goals as your tutor is to find out how you learn best so that you can incorporate learning strategies we work on in your other courses.

Experience

I taught science and chemistry subjects at the middle and high school levels. Prior to teaching, I student taught at local high schools, and I tutored during my time in college. I also have industry experience working in labs that utilize the material I learned from my chemistry courses. Seeing students find success with the material they're working with is why I am a tutor.

Hobbies

I enjoy spending time with my wife, baby son, and our 1 year old Havanese, Stanley. We enjoy going to local festivals, taking in the weather outside, and cooking something new. In my experience working with students, preparing for exams or working on assignments for school can be stressful. It can be even more stressful when there isn't an opportunity during the day to dedicate time to working on the material at hand. My hours for tutoring were made to give students an opportunity to work with an educator first hand during a time where finding a good tutor may not be as easy.
