Experience
I tutored student athletes for the Vanderbilt University Athletic Department from 1983-1987. My primary function as a tutor has been that of a writing coach. I also have four children that I have tutored in a variety of subjects. However, my base of knowledge is broad and can be applied in many ways. When I lived in Murfreesboro in the 90s, I delivered great service privately tutoring many MTSU students as a writing coach, turning C and D students into A students. I like teaching math. I can teach it with all of the steps as well as the old-fashioned way. I placed third in the Vol State regional comprehensive math competition long, long ago. I can also teach you and/or your children how to write winning research papers and essays using a simple formula that works every time it is used. Don't be offended when I mark up your rough drafts with a lot of red ink. That is what it takes to learn how to write a good paper. You should be able to teach someone else how to do it if we go through the process enough times together. I can do as much or as little of the background work as you want. More research on my part obviously costs more for the finished product. If you are a college student, I don't mind waiting until mid-semester for you to call for assistance. The only problem with that is how the sudden change in your writing voice appears to your instructor. Therefore, if you need help, it seems best to admit it from the outset and begin learning how to produce an optimal product from day one. I expect you will be vastly more pleased with the outcome when the final grade arrives. Also, in this modern age, our efficiency can be maximized by using email, Skype, and/or FaceTime, saving all parties time and money. My posted rate is just what I consider to be a fair average for short-term work. More lengthy stints are subject to negotiation. Though my stated hours are weekday mornings, other arrangements can be made, particularly if we decide to employ video conferencing. If you are a child or a woman, I will insist upon meeting somewhere in public, like the library or a coffee shop so there is never even the slightest appearance of impropriety. With children, under 18, I can come to your house if you prefer it, but you will need to remain present at all times.

Hobbies
I am a stay-at-home dad with a highly successful spouse and also have a father with Alzheimer's disease for whom I serve as conservator. I raised a daughter who graduated cum laude with a 3.6 GPA at UT-Knoxville, May 2015. My 10yo triplets all excel in private, Catholic school. I like sports, particularly soccer, agriculture, politics, movies, and some popular culture.
