Recent graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (May 2014) with a Bachelor's Degree in History and Romance Languages (Spanish). Pursuing a path in medicine.
Experience
Throughout college, I spent many hours tutoring local high school kids in various subjects, with a special emphasis on Spanish. I began tutoring through UNC's "Learning Center," a peer tutoring program established by the School of Education. Working alongside other peer tutors, I gained a renewed sense of enjoyment while tutoring peers in various subjects. I love seeing students challenge themselves and improve in whatever topic they may be struggling in! My interest in tutoring stems from my own need for help during my college career. As a freshman taking introductory economics, I felt overwhelmed and lost, but, by getting one-on-one help from a tutor through the university, I slowly improved in the subject. My tutor's interest in the subject, as well as her patience as she worked through problems, not only encouraged me, but made me want to improve in the subject. I would like to be able to provide that encouragement to other students!
