Education

Graduated with a Bachelor of arts in English Literature at Belmont University in 2015, with a minor English Composition. My emphasis in literature was American modernism and postmodernism, with a focus on new Narratology (this is, indeed, what it is called). My thesis involved the use of composition philosophy New Materialism in identifying narrator and point(s) of view across a variety of modern texts.

Experience

Served as a teacher's assistant for a literature theory course. This involved one on one tutoring of students in the class, as well as guest lecturing as necessary. Have taken courses and studied extensively fields dedicated to learning and composition pedagogy and theory, as well as editing with emphasis on style and form in professional and creative settings. I consider myself an expert in grammar and mechanics, and have experience working with students on college-level essay editing and approval. I have one piece of short fiction published in local Nashville Journal Julep, entitled "I, Father, O!", in the winter 2015 issue. I feel that tutoring is an essential part of the individual's learning process, and that detailed learning is fostered better in a 1:1 environment. I enjoy the process of getting to know a student's learning style, and few things bring me greater satisfaction than watching a student grow into a full understanding of the topic at hand. Hobbies

I am a writer and musician by trade, if not profession. Therefore, I dedicate most of my free time to the development and exposition of those crafts. I also enjoy engaging in the artistic community to the best of my ability: going to shows, readings, working with local journals and collectives, etc. I like to relax with a long bike ride or a trip to the lake, and take any opportunity I can to catch up on the infinite reading list.
