B.A. Honors Math, University of British Columbia M.S. Math, University of Oregon
While completing my master's degree at the University of Oregon, I taught courses in College Algebra, Trigonometry, and Calculus. I loved helping students grow their mathematical confidence and experience moments of sudden understanding. Recently, I tutored K-12 students at a Mathnasium in New York City, where I had the opportunity to work with students in different stages of math development - from kindergartners learning to add, to middle schoolers preparing for the SHSAT high school admissions exam, to high schoolers studying for the SAT or taking AP Calculus. Through my teaching and tutoring I've learned how to communicate math simply to a broad range of people: older students, younger students, students that have been out of the math game for a while and want to get back on track, and those that incorrectly believe they are just naturally bad at math. I have a friendly, patient, and flexible teaching style. I am very attentive and accommodating to my students' learning style, encouraging any question - I believe that teaching should always involve a back and forth conversation. I specialize in tutoring Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, and SAT math. I look forward to hearing from you and helping you become more confident in your mathematical ability!
