I attended Tennessee State University, and I enjoy tutoring a variety of subjects. I realize that every student is an individual with different goals, desires, and learning styles. For this reason, I always tutor by keeping the student's needs in mind, and I tailor my tutoring style to each student. However, I always strive to incorporate hands-on activities in my lessons to make learning easier. I establish a good rapport with every student, because I like my students to understand that they can trust me. This helps each student learn by making them realize they are in a safe learning environment where they are free to ask questions and tell me what they believe are their greatest challenges. While I do promote a comfortable learning environment, I feel that challenging my students to reach their greatest potential is also important.I can tutor math courses ranging from basic math to algebra 1 and geometry. I also tutor reading, earth science, English, phonics, writing, and other sciences. In addition, I enjoy helping students prepare for tests and teaching them good study skills. When not tutoring, I enjoy reading, listening to music, singing, and arts and crafts. I also enjoy getting outdoors when I can, and one of my favorite outdoor activities is camping.
