Experience

I am a licensed teacher in TN and have helped several students pass EOC exams, ACT, SAT, and other high-stakes tests. I have taken the ACT and scored a 34 composite. I have had several courses specifically in high-stakes test development and theory. This gives me and edge in helping student learn strategies to pass tests such as the ACT, SAT, GRE, TCAP, EOC exams, and more. I have taught proven strategies to both students and teachers with great success. One of the things that draws me to tutoring is helping students accomplish their goals of learning and progressing to higher education. I have worked with students ranging in age from 5 y.o. to 85 y.o. It is thrilling to see the spark of learning become a flame of knowledge in the eyes of my students.

Hobbies

Some of my many interests include music, design and construction, history, automobilia, and magic. As an amateur musician, I enjoy playing the banjo, guitar, fiddle, electric organ, and almost anything instrument I can. My love for building things has prompted me to design, build and sell several retro-styled, camper trailers. I have also designed and built small versions of trebuchets and catapults, as well as full-size wooden swords, shields, and atlatl's. I do perform some magic from time to time. But, mostly I design and build stage props for my daughters who are performing magicians. I like almost any kind of vehicle. However, I tend to be drawn toward the unusual and quirky cars and trucks that have largely been forgotten.
