Experience
I earned my bachelor's degree in Biology, with a minor in Psychology, from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. I have experience, having taken standardized test such as the SAT, the ACT, and the MCAT. I have experience applying to a wide variety of schools, both regular colleges and medical schools. This means I have a good understanding of the challenges faced by students who are preparing for these kinds of tests and the anxiety they feel about the college admissions process. But I know if I could make it through, anybody can, and I enjoy helping students go through the preparation of applications for college, which includes learning how to master the standardized tests involved. I also have experience helping students write successful college entry essays, and also working with them on the best strategies for studying once they get to college. I am able to tutor students in a number of science and math classes, but also subjects like critical reading, writing and technical writing, and other skills that affect all areas of their academic careers. I focus on digging into the material they are learning, helping them learn to identify and deal with the areas that need improvement.
