For these conferences, I presented on the works of Jane Austen as well as the juxtaposition between the country and the city in British literature and television. I completed my 100 page Master's thesis in the summer of 2015. My work centered on the impact of Joseph Conrad's "Heart of Darkness" on modern postcolonial feminist writing. I spent a great deal of time studying history and numerous authors that appear to be influenced by Conrad. Why Do I Want to Tutor? I love to teach and I am well-versed in my areas of study. I have successfully led classes in a multitude of disciplines surrounding the writing arts, including First Year Writing for mainly undergraduate freshmen and Technical Writing for the Graduate Pharmacy Program. I would be deeply honored to be able to use what I have learned to help someone else not only master the subject, but develop a passion for it!

Hobbies

I am an avid reader! I like to explore different genres and have found myself very interested in the world of neuroscience as of late. I am also a writer and am in the early stages of creating my first book. I love to spend time with my friends and watch Wes Anderson movies. Additionally, I'm a self-professed Anglophile with a love of traveling! So far, I've had the privilege of spending an extensive amount of time in England, Scotland, France, Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Denmark, Japan, and Mexico. Next up? I'm thinking Nepal!
