For these conferences, I presented on the works of Jane Austen as well as the juxtaposition between the country and the city in British literature and television. I completed my 100 page Master's thesis in the summer of 2015. My work centered on the impact of Joseph Conrad's "Heart of Darkness" on modern postcolonial feminist writing. I spent a great deal of time studying history and numerous authors that appear to be influenced by Conrad. Why Do I Want to Tutor? I love to teach and I am well-versed in my areas of study. I have successfully led classes in a multitude of disciplines surrounding the writing arts, including First Year Writing for mainly undergraduate freshmen and Technical Writing for the Graduate Pharmacy Program. I would be deeply honored to be able to use what I have learned to help someone else not only master the subject, but develop a passion for it!
