Experience
I teach writing-intensive and upper-level literature courses at Vanderbilt University, and I have worked with many private pupils on test preparation, college entrance essays, and preparation for college-level writing. I just cycled off a three-year appointment as Assistant Director of the Vanderbilt Writing Studio. In addition, I taught summer and weekend courses for the Vanderbilt Program for Talented Youth from 2007-2014. I aim to help every student realize his or her potential as a writer and a thinker. I am particularly fond of assisting pupils as they write personal statements for college, graduate school, or scholarship applications. This genre of writing is an art form, and I love to see these essays take shape!

I admit that I spend most of my spare time reading and writing, but my dogs and I also take lots of walks in Shelby Park. I have a terrific boyfriend with two hilarious and wonderful children, and we devote our weekends to outdoors adventures.
